Every private estimate starts with either a verified original model-year retail price or a clearly labeled modeled fallback.
Tier one
Verified MSRP
CartFolio stores the exact year, make, model, configuration, price, source URL, and confidence. Official manufacturer material, archived official pages, and reputable model-year pricing pages are preferred.
Tier two
Modeled fallback — never presented as MSRP
Some manufacturers never published durable model-year pricing. For those carts, CartFolio stores a low-confidence baseline based on the documented make/model segment, configuration, nearby verified prices, and model year. It is never presented as MSRP, carries a wider estimate range, and can be replaced when better evidence becomes available.
The baseline is only the starting point. Age, battery health, condition, usage, documented modifications, and market factors are applied separately. Return to Discover
